USCIS Immigration FRUSTRATIONS!!!!

If you're reading this and you have never completed an international adoption and/or dealt with USCIS, consider yourself blessed.  I am venting and this is the place where I do it...so this blog contains happy and sad moments.  I guess it's like real life.  So, we were promised that USCIS would have our I-171H amendment fed exed to us on the 20th, meaning that it should have gotten here by the the 21st (yesterday), and at the VERY latest today.  After it did not come today, I decided to check our their story.  I have two emails from USCIS stating that we'd have the document by today....one from a supervisor and one from a case officer.

So, after it did NOT come today, I called Federal Express and I had them do a search on recent shipments to and FROM us and basically check out account activity.  I guess USCIS thinks I am stupid because I verified that NOTHING has been initiated by USCIS through Fed Ex.  I don't know if they sent it regular mail (which is a possibility).  I just want them to now FIND the document and tell us what happened to it. All of our other dossier 2 documents are complete except for the apostilles and Montgomery County certifications, which I will get on Monday.

The one piece of positive news out of all this is since we had previous approval through immigration for a child 6-24 months, Beacon House has agreed to go ahead and accept our Dossier next week and send it for translation to Russia.  They **may** even be able to set a court date without the corrected I-171H.  If so, that would be wonderful.  It would just have to get to us before we traveled again and I would need time to notarize, certify and apostille the document.

Please pray all this is resolved soon.  Aaron and I both ARE so stressed out with this adoption and the issues with it, not to mention all his stress with graduate school and just his everyday work with the Air Force that is going on right now.  Hmmm...I don't guess things will ever be as simple as the days of Aaron's first assignment and the first years of our marriage in Mississippi.
We really need your prayers right now as things are quite tumultuous.  My grandmother (who is like my mother) is in the hospital right now.  She has been in for a few days for what they thought was a virus and kidney infection, but her heart went out of rhythm and today they had to give her anesthesia and shock it back into regular rhythm.  Please pray it was all because of the virus and that she will come out of this unscathed.  We want her to meet and bond with Katie also.
Thank you for your prayers and for following us on this journey.
