Just when you think all your ducks are in a row.....
Firstly, I gotta say how wonderful our company is that we got our Russian visas through. It's like they have moved heaven and Earth to take care of my stupid mistake. So, I am SUCH a ditz, or at least I FEEL like one. We leave this Friday the 24th, Russia-bound. I am exhausted today because I went to three doctors' appointments for all my refills on medicines I might need on the trip and had my post-surgery check-up. Anyway, yesterday sucked, royally. Since this blog is a place where I can speak my peace, let me.
I made the mistake and it was all my fault...so I am not blaming a single person here, but I put the wrong date on our visa applications. It was one of those things where you apply online at Go to Russia's web site for faster service. Since we were given little to NO time to prepare for this trip, I had to do it online. Personally, I prefer to complete important paperwork by hand so I can review my work before submission, but anyway this didn't allow you to even use Adobe Acrobat to review and fill in the blanks (in my defense).
So, I ended up putting in the wrong dates for ENTRY into Russia. I wasn't even thinking about the fact that we LAND in MOSCOW on the 25th. I put the 26th on the Visas. Thank God for our adoption coordinator who caught the mistake and she promptly helped us figure out how to get the dates changed. That was cheaper (mind you, a costly mistake), but still cheaper than changing our itinerary and airline tickets. Now, I'm exhausted and we have not even begun that LONG flight to Vladivostok. We will be doing that tomorrow at noon. If you're reading this, then hopefully I will be able to post some stuff from Vlad because our hotel advertises wifi. We shall see.
So, today I'm waiting on Fed Ex, knowing they are bringing our visas. Thanks be to God!!!!
