We're in Vladivostok, FINALLY!!! Trip 2 of 2 begins!!!
So, we are in Vladivostok after an exhausting 36 hour travel schedule. I tested my theory as I wondered if -11 degrees would feel much different than +12 degrees and it doesn't...at least to me. It feels COLD!!! :-) We have begun the process of adopting our little princess, Katie Allison, and bringing her home. Aaron will be here for 10 days, through February 14th. I couldn't let my sweetie leave before Valentine's Day! <3
Our court hearing for Katie is here in Vladivostok on Friday, February 11th. We had an amazing breakfast a few minutes ago and spoke to our family via Skype to let them know we made it here all in one piece. Thank God Delta did not lose any of our luggage since the last four times we flew with them, they did. In Moscow, we had a six hour layover and I got to have Italian food! Yummy Lasagna. The plane food on Aeroflot is okay, but not our tastes. It was enough to sustain us until we got to the Vlad Motor Inn. By the way, if I didn't comment on this place last time...it is an awesome hotel. I don't think the name says "four star," but we definitely have gotten four star treatment from the staff. We are staying in a two bedroom apartment with refrigerator and microwave. They were going to put us on a waiting list for a suite that has a stove, but after seeing this, we decided to keep this! Aaron can do his homework in the other room while I read or entertain myself in the second room.
We will write more as the weeks go by since I will be here until February 25th which is when Katie and I leave for Moscow. Aaron leaves on February 16th, after the court hearing is done and all of the power of attorney is signed over to me. He has to figure out what comes next for his career, which might include a move very soon. If we do move, we hope it will be closer to family to they can enjoy this beautiful gift of a child that God is giving us.
Tomorrow (Tuesday), we will go to the Orphanage at 8:30am and do a morning visit with Katie. Then, we will come back and do our medical exams in Vladivostok tomorrow afternoon. I hear those exams are quite freakish. We shall see.
Bless you all and thank you for the continued prayers for us and our little princess as our journey starts once again!
