Our time here in Russia as Mommy & Daughter
So, Daddy (Papa) as Katie calls him (Aaron) had to come back to the States one week ago today. Wow, I have been SO busy with our little princess that I have had very little time to write this, hence why I am writing it now at 2am. I am tired, but her adjustment to me is getting faster. She is an amazing little princess and we both just love her so much! There aren't enough words to explain that. In just about ten days, we will be home in Ohio and will be able to show Katie her new bedroom and she can meet her (Quisas)....Russian for Cats. We have two. It will be interesting to see how they act around her. I am thinking Nala will just run away and Skye will think she's a toy to play with. At any rate, they will have to learn that they are no longer number one! This adjustment period with Katie and without Aaron has been very hard, but the bonding time between her and I has just gotten stronger. She LOVES taking a bath!!! This is amazing to me because she never got to enjoy it at the baby home. I will tell her "Cu-batsa.." and she starts immediately stripping off ALL her clothes to include her diaper. She was in big girl panties when I visited her at the baby home, but does not show any interest in going potty so we will deal with that when we get home.
I think children who are adopted tend to regress a little and it is perfectly normal. Here's a public link to the latest photos (you don't need a Facebook account to view them). Comment and let us know what you think. Next week, we will leave Vladivostok and fly to Moscow together then spend six nights there and take care of her Russian Consular registration and U.S. Embassy appointments. I just pray the Marriott Renaissance has a place for her to play because she will NOT nap if she doesn't get a good playtime during the day.
