False Alarm: No worries about genetic issue!!!

So, this morning, I received a great phone call from the International Adoption Clinic at Cincinnati Children's Medical Center.  When Katie's lab work was done at the Air Force Base, something with awry with the testing because the lab at Cincinnati Children's re-tested her to see HOW deficient she was with G6PD and she is not deficient at all!!!  This is such a praise to God!!!  


So far, everything has checked our perfectly with our princess and she is VERY healthy and growing more and more everyday!  She eats anything...to include LOVING Olives at the Olive Garden yesterday.  Her Nanny (Aaron's mother) is in town this week and until May 2nd and we are all having a blast.  I will have to post some photos and videos from the week when I get a chance.

To know that God hand-picked this baby to be our daughter is amazing.  Adoption rocks!!!  We hope everyone had a Happy Easter and we had so much FUN with Katie (even though we had to do the egg hunt inside).  I will have to post videos and photos of that when I get them edited.  I used to be able to do this all the time and easily, but it's not SO easy when Katie is awake and wants to PLAY!!!  She's so playful, energetic and ALWAYS happy!!!  Our prayers for our child have been answered!!!  Here are a couple photos of her enjoying bubbles--one of her favorite pastimes.  :-)

Do you ever sit back and ask God why you are here? Like what is HIS infinite purpose for you? Today, we visited Katie again at the baby home in Ussirysk and returned to find out that the entire city of 800,000 in Vladivostok has no water today.  They turned it off apparently to fix pipes before the cold season.  This is really roughing it for us! No showers tonight and no laundry either.  I was going to wash some clothes, but we will just have to do without tonight.  Often, as Americans, I think we forget some of the luxuries we are afforded when others in this world, like our Katie are not so lucky.  But WE are the ones who are eternally blessed that God allowed this match between us to happen. What a scary evening....but praying all is okay!

I know this blog should really only pertain to all things adoption, but I have to write about this somewhere or I might really scream!  Does anyone else feel like they have it all together and then one things happens out of our ordinary patterns and we kind of freak out?  Well, that is what happened tonight.  I had been talking to my maternal grandmother (who basically raised me, as my mom was a teen mother and with my brother's health problems, she had to take care of him mostly!   Anyway, this wonderful grandmother of mine had what she thought was a stomach virus all this week.  She got SO dehydrated that my grandfather had to force her to go to the emergency room this evening.  Well, she is a type II Diabetic and that makes things worse for her also.  He basically had to drag/carry her to get her there.  She had some blood work taken and the ER doctor sent her home with medication to treat her pyelonephritis (kidney infection) and she wil...
